Install a Gratitude Board/Shout Out Board  Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible.  Create a Gratitude Board, have your team write down what they are grateful for on a piece of paper, and add it to the gratitude board. 

 

Host a Lamp Advocate  Work and personal life can be stressful.  A Lamp advocate will provide an onsite presentation on Coping with Stress and Anxiety.  Learn strategies for coping and overcoming stress and anxiety to live your fullest life.

Initiate or promote an existing Employee Recognition Program  Building a culture of gratitude and appreciation in the workplace can help create deeper connections among employees and to the work they are doing.  Express your appreciation and gratitude to one another by implementing an Employee Shout Out/Recognition Board.  Send this sheet to your staff before your next meeting and read out loud.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  Some ideas to promote this for your worksite:

  • Ask employees to wear green on May 14th or select a day of your choosing.
  • Fight the stigma associated with mental illness by asking your employees to take the Stigma Free Pledge.
  • Display the You Are Not Alone Flyer in a common area.

LAMP Counselor

Emmanuel (Manny) graduated with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Therapy in 2020. He gained experience as a therapist in a residential addiction site as well as outpatient settings. With these settings in mind, he has been able to work with a broad swath of diverse demographics while using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused brief therapy (CFBT) as modalities within the treatment process.
